मंडणगड(रत्नागिरी) : तालुक्यातील वेळास व तुळशी (Velas and Tulsi) परिसरात नुकत्याच घडलेल्या दोन चांगल्या घटना पक्षीप्रेमींसाठी आनंददायी ठरल्या आहेत. दुर्मिळ होत चाललेला खंड्या पक्षी (Continental birds) अडकलेल्या जाळ्यातून मुक्त करण्यात आला असून दुसऱ्या ठिकाणी घरट्यातील चार गोंडस पिल्लांनी घरटे सोडून मोकळ्या वातावरणात यशस्वी भरारी घेतली आहे. kingfisher-bird-trapped-in-life-kokan-bird-marathi-news

वेळास येथील विभा दरीपकर यांच्या शेतात भात रोपांचे जंगली प्राण्यांपासून सरंक्षण होण्यासाठी लावण्यात आलेल्या जाळ्यात पांढऱ्या छातीचा खंड्या म्हणजेच धीवर पक्षी अडकला होता. सकाळी शेतात आल्यानंतर पाहिले असता, त्याची त्यातून सुटण्याची धडपड सुरू होती. त्यात तो आणखीनच गुरफटून जात होता. जवळ जावून पाहणी केल्यानंतर त्याचे दोन्ही पंख व एक पाय जाळ्यात अडकला होता. सुटकेसाठी चाललेली केविलवाणी धडपड पाहून त्यांनी सुरीने जाळी कापून त्याचे पाय व पंख मोकळे केले. धाप लागल्याने त्याला पाणी पाजले. औषधोपचार करून मोकळ्या जागेत ठेवल्यानंतर त्याने थोड्या वेळाने मोकळ्या वातावरणात भरारी घेत रानात गायब झाला. खंड्या सुखरूप उडून गेल्याने झालेला आनंद अवर्णनीय असल्याचे दरीपकर यांनी सांगितले.

मंडणगड तुळशी मार्गावर घाटात रस्त्याशेजारी दरडीला असणाऱ्या खंड्याच्या घरट्यातील चारही पिल्लांनी यशस्वी भरारी घेतली आहे. खंड्याने मातीच्या बिळात बांधलेल्या घरट्यात आपल्या चारही पिल्लांचे यशस्वी संगोपन केले. जंगलातील किडे, मुंग्या आपल्या चोचीत आणून रस्त्यावरून धावणारी गाड्यांचा वेग आणि मानवी नजर चुकवून घरट्याच्या बिलावर जावून बसणे, आतील पिल्लांना आवाजाने बोलविणे आणि पिल्लांना चोचीने खाद्य भरवितांना खंड्याची चाललेली धावपळ पाहणे डोळ्यांना सुखावणारे होते. नैसर्गिक घटना व मानवी वृत्तीपासून आपल्या पिल्लांचे अनेक दिवस तारेवरची कसरत करून यशस्वी संगोपन करून त्यांना मोकळ्या आकाशात भरारी घेण्यासाठी सज्ज केले. पंखात बळ आलेल्या चारही गोंडस पिल्लांनी आकाशात भरारी घेतल्याचे घरट्यातील रिक्त जागा पाहून स्पष्ट झाले.

वेळासच्या परिसरात दुर्मिळ पक्षांचा वावर दिसून येतो. पक्षी निरीक्षणाची सुवर्णसंधी पक्षीप्रेमींसाठी उपलब्ध आहे. याच ठिकाणी भविष्यात पक्षांचे नैसर्गिक अधिवास सुरक्षित करून पक्षी पर्यटन उपलब्ध करण्याचा मानस आहे.
