स्मिता विश्राम वाघोले यांनी दिलेल्या फिर्यादीनुसार, वाघोले या पुणे महानगरपालिकेच्या शाळेत शिक्षिका म्हणून २००१ पासून काम करतात. २०२१ साली त्या गुडघेदुखीवरील उपचारासाठी बारामतीतील विश्वजित हॉस्पिटल येथे आल्या होत्या. तेथे डॉ. कृष्णा जेवादे व त्यांचा कंपाऊंडर सोमनाथ इंगळे यांच्याशी त्यांची ओळख झाली. डॉ. जेवादे यांनी त्यावेळी शिक्षिकेची विचारपूस केली. त्यांना अस्थिव्यंग असल्याचे डॉ. जेवादे यांना समजले.

त्यानंतर पुन्हा काही दिवसांनी जेवादे याने संपर्क करत तुमचे काम होत आले आहे, आणखी साडे पाच लाख रुपये लागतील असे सांगत त्यांना मुलाखतीसाठी बारामतीला बोलावले. त्यावेळी फिर्यादीने आणखी साडे पाच लाखाची रक्कम रोख स्वरुपात दिली. दोन ते तीन महिन्यात काम होईल, काम झाले नाही तर पैसे परत करतो, असे जेवादे याने सांगितले होते.
पैसे देऊन बराच कालावधी लोटला तरी काम होत नसल्याने फिर्यादी यांनी त्यांना फोनवर संपर्क केला. त्यावर तुमची ऑर्डर तयार आहे, लवकरच ती मिळेल असे सांगत त्याने उडवाउडवीची उत्तरे दिली. पुन्हा काही महिन्यानंतर त्याचा फोन लागणे बंद झाले. व्हाट्सअपवर मेसेज केल्यावर तुमचे पैसे लवकरच देतो असे त्याने सांगितले. परंतु काम न करता फसवणूक केली हे पुढे स्पष्ट झाले.
