Nagpur Municipal Corporation News : महापालिकेच्या शाळेतील मुलांनी वारंवार गुणवत्ता सिद्ध करत यशाचा झेंडा रोवला आहे. याच मालिकेत आता पुन्हा एकदा महापालिका शाळांतील वीस मुलांनी आपली गुणवत्ता सिद्ध करीत लघु उपग्रह निर्मितीचे धडे घेण्यासाठी पाऊल पुढे टाकले आहे. ही मुले पुढील महिन्यात भारतीय अंतराळ संशोधन संस्थेत (इस्त्रो) ISRO उपग्रह निर्मितीची प्रक्रिया जवळून बघणार आहे.

भारतीय अंतराळ संशोधन संस्थेद्वारे (Indian Space Research Organization) अंतराळात सोडले जाणारे उपग्रह, त्यांचे तंत्रज्ञान, संशोधन हा विषय नेहमीच मुलांच्या उत्सुकतेचा असतो. अंतराळातील विविध घटना, घडामोडी नेहमीच मुलांच्या आकर्षणाचा विषय राहिला आहे. महापालिकेच्या शाळेतील मुलेही अपवाद नाही. या मुलांनीही इस्त्रोमध्ये जाण्यासाठी आपली गुणवत्ता सिद्ध केली आहे. महापालिकेच्या विविध शाळांतील 20 मुलांची निवड इस्त्रोमध्ये जाण्यासाठी करण्यात आली आहे.

महापालिकेच्या शिक्षण विभागाने दहावीतील 20 मुलांची निवड करण्यात आली. 21 फेब्रुवारीला रामेश्वरम येथे इस्त्रो मोठे उपग्रह अंतराळात सोडणार आहे. यासोबत एक लघु उपग्रहही सोडणार आहे. ही मुले पुढील महिन्यात 15 तारखेला नागपुरातून जाणार असून इस्त्रो संस्थेत तीन ते चार दिवस ‘स्पेस सायन्सचे धडे’ गिरवणार आहे. यादरम्यान या मुलांना लघु उपग्रह कसा तयार करतात, तो अंतराळात कसा सोडतात, ही सर्व प्रक्रिया जवळून बघता येणार असून त्यांना पडलेल्या प्रश्नांची उत्तरेही शोधणार आहेत.

या मुलांसोबत महापालिका शाळेतील दोन शिक्षकांना पाठविण्यात येण आहे. ही मुले 23 फेब्रुवारीला नागपुरात परत येतील. महापालिका शाळेतील शिक्षणाबाबत नेहमीच प्रश्नचिन्ह उभे केले जातात. परंतु गेल्या काही वर्षात महापालिका शाळांमधील शिक्षणाचा दर्जा उंचावत असल्याचे मुलांच्या निवडीने अधोरेखित केले. 20 पैकी दहा मुलांचा खर्च एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम फाऊंडेशन करणार असून दहा मुलांचा खर्च महापालिका करणार आहे. एका मुलाला 15 हजार रुपये खर्च येणार आहे. महापालिकेची ही गुंतवणूक भविष्यात नागपूरला अंतराळ शास्त्रज्ञ नक्कीच देणार, असा विश्वास व्यक्त केला जात आहे.
