Nagpur News :  शहराचा विकास करताना सिमेंट रस्ते, उड्डाणपूल, मेट्रो या भौतिक सुविधांच्या विकासासोबत सर्वांच्या उपयोगात येणारे रस्ते निर्माण करणे ही गरज आहे. सायकलिंग आणि पायी चालणाऱ्यांनाही इतर वाहनांच्या बरोबरीनेच रस्त्याचा उपयोग करता यावा यासाठी रस्त्यांची रचना करण्यासाठी मनपाने पुढाकार घेतला आहे. सायकलिंग आणि वॉकर फ्रेन्डली शहराच्या निर्मितीसाठी शहराच्या विकासात सहभाग असलेल्या सर्व यंत्रणांनी सहकार्य मिळाले तर शहरातील सर्व रस्ते वॉकर फ्रेन्डली होतील, असा विश्वास मनपा (NMC) आयुक्त राधाकृष्णन बी. यांनी व्यक्त केला.

नागपूर महानगरपालिकेच्या सहकार्याने आयटीडीपी द्वारे नागपूर शहरात उच्च दर्जाच्या रस्त्यांच्या नेवटर्क संदर्भात नियोजन, डिझाईन आणि अंमलबजावणीसाठी ‘नागपूर हेल्दी स्ट्रीट’ क्षमता विकास कार्यशाळा आज, गुरूवारी मनपाच्या महाल येथील राजे रघोजी भोसले नगरभवन येथे घेण्यात आली. कार्यशाळेच्या उद्घाटनप्रसंगी मनपा आयुक्त बोलत होते. 

पुढे बोलताना मनपा आयुक्तांनी शहरातील रस्त्यांची योग्य रचना करणे आवश्यक असल्याचे नमूद केले. देशातील अनेक मोठ्या शहरांनी रस्त्यांची रचना बदलल्याने वाहतूक आणि पार्कींग दोन्ही समस्यांबाबत फायदा झाला असल्याचे त्यांनी सांगितले. नागपूर शहरात पार्कींग, फुटपाथच्या योग्य वापरासह वर्तवणूक बदलासाठी रस्त्यांतील प्रत्येक वाहनासाठी स्वतंत्र उपलब्धता आवश्यक आहे. हे बदल करताना अशी कार्यशाळा महत्वाची ठरत असल्याचे सांगतीतले. शहरात वाहतूक समस्या आणि रस्त्यासंबंधी इतर समस्यांवर मात करण्यासाठी रस्त्यांची रचना करतानाचे नियोजन, डिझाईन आणि अंमलबजावणीसाठी सर्व विभाग आणि यंत्रणांचे महत्वाचे कार्य आहे.
 
प्रत्येक नागरिकाला रस्त्याची योग्य जागा आवश्यक : प्रांजल कुलकर्णी

बस, कार व अन्य चार चाकी वाहन यासोबतच सायकल आणि पायी चालणारी व्यक्ती अशा प्रत्येक नागरिकाला रस्त्यावर त्याची योग्य जागा मिळणे आवश्यक असल्याचे मत कार्यशाळेतील मार्गदर्शक आयडीपीआय इंडियाचे उपव्यवस्थापक प्रांजल कुलकर्णी यांनी मांडले. त्यांनी सादरीकरणाच्या माध्यमातून वाहतूक समस्या आणि त्यावरील उपायांचे डिझाईन याबाबत माहिती दिली. वाढत्या वाहनांच्या संख्येमुळे वाहतुकीची समस्या ही वाढत जाणारी बाब आहे. अशात सार्वजनिक परिवहन व्यवस्थेचा उपयोग करून वाहनांची संख्या कमी करण्यावर भर देण्याची गजर असल्याचे ते म्हणाले.

अर्बन डिझायनद्वारे रस्त्यांची रचनांची संकल्पना मांडली जाते व त्यानुसार कामही केले जाते. मात्र बारीकसारीक गोष्टींकडे लक्ष न दिल्याने अंमलबजावणीमध्ये अनेक चुका दिसून येतात. या चुका टाळण्यासाठी सुक्ष्म नियोजन आवश्यक असल्याचे मत पॅव्हटेक कन्सलटंटचे संचालक विकास ठाकर यांनी मांडले. रस्त्यांच्या रचनांना प्रत्येक्षात अंमलबजावणी करताना संबंधित सर्व यंत्रणांचे समन्वय आवश्यक असल्याचेही त्यांनी नमूद केले.
