सातारा : पुणे- बंगळूर आशियाई महामार्गावर सातारा तालुक्यातील बोरगाव गावच्या हद्दीत रविवारी पहाटे दोन ते तीन वाजण्याच्या सुमारास कुरिअरच्या गाडीवर चार ते पाच जणांनी सशस्त्र दरोडा घातला. दरोडेखोरांनी गाडीतून तब्बल सात किलो वजनाच्या सोन्याच्या विटा आणि चांदीची लूट केली. कोल्हापूरहुन पुण्याच्या दिशेने जात असताना हा थरारक प्रकार घडला.

याबाबत मिळालेली माहिती अशी की, कोल्हापूर येथील एका कुरिअर कंपनीचे कर्मचारी रात्री दोन वाजता पिकअप गाडीतून सोन्याच्या विटा आणि चांदी घेऊन पुण्याला निघाले होते. कुरिअरची गाडी सातारा जिल्ह्यातील बोरगाव हद्दीत आल्यानंतर चार ते पाच सशस्त्र दरोडेखोरांनी पिकअप गाडीचा अर्धा ते एक तास थरारक पाठलाग करून गाडी थांबवली. गाडीच्या चालकाला शस्त्राचा धाक दाखवून दरोडेखोरांनी अंदाजे सात किलो वजनाच्या सोने आणि चांदीच्या विटांची लूट केली. यानंतर दरोडेखोर तेथून पसार झाले.

या प्रकाराची माहिती बोरगाव पोलीस तसेच स्थानिक गुन्हे शाखेच्या टीमला मिळाल्यानंतर पोलिसांनी जिल्ह्यात नाकाबंदी केली. तातडीने एक टीम तयार करून पुण्याच्या दिशेने रवाना करण्यात आली. लुटारूंचा पाठलाग करत असताना पोलिसांना पिकअप गाडी महामार्गावर सापडली. मात्र, सोने-चांदी घेऊन दरोडेखोर इनोव्हा कार आणि दुचाकीवरून पसार झाल्याचे तपासात समोर आले आहे. बोरगाव पोलीस ठाण्यात या घटनेची अद्याप नोंद झाली नव्हती. कुरियर वाहतूक करणाऱ्या पिकअपमध्ये सोन्या-चांदीच्या विटा असल्याची माहिती दरोडेखोरांना कशी लागली, याचा शोध पोलीस घेत आहेत. कोल्हापूरपासून या गाडीवर दरोडेखोरांची पाळत होती काय, याबाबत कसून शोध घेण्यात येत असल्याचे पोलिसांनी सांगितले. जिल्हा पोलीस अधीक्षक समीर शेख यांनी तातडीने दरोडेखोरांचा शोध घेऊन ताब्यात घेण्याच्या सूचनाही केले आहेत. शेख यांच्या सूचनेनुसार पथके तयार करून विविध ठिकाणी पाठवण्यात आले आहेत.
