या मंदिरात अंबाबाईसह अनेक छोटी मोठी मंदिर आहेत. तसेच वडाचे झाड देखील आहे. यामुळे आज वटपौर्णिमेनिमित्त अंबाबाई मंदिर परिसरातील महिला मोठ्या प्रमाणात मंदिरात आल्या होत्या. यावेळी मंदिर परिसरातील वडाच्या झाडाला पूजा करण्यासाठी महिलांनी मोठ्या प्रमाणात गर्दी केली होती. यावेळी पूजा सुरु असतानाच वडाच्या झाडाने अचानक पेट घेतला.
दरम्यान महिला या झाडाखाली मोठ्या प्रमाणात कापूर आणि उदबत्ती लावून वडाच्या झाडाला प्रदक्षिणा मारत होत्या. याचवेळी बांधलेल्या दोऱ्याला अचानक आग लागली. या अचानक लागलेल्या आगीमुळे भडका उडाला. यामुळे मंदिर परिसरात एकच खळबळ उडाली.
