मागील सरकारमध्ये स्वत: यांनी गृहमंत्री या नात्याने पोलिस दलाचे नेतृत्व केले असून, पाच वर्षे याच पोलिसांनी त्यांना साथ दिली होती. प्रशासन चालविण्यात आणि राज्यातील कायदा सुव्यवस्था राखण्यात पोलिसांनी मदत केली होता. आता मुंबई पोलिसांचे थोबाड काळे झाले अशा प्रकारची भाषा ते कसे वापरू शकतात, असा संतप्त सवाल गृहमंत्री यांनी फडणवीस यांना उद्देशून मंगळवारी केला आहे.
महाराष्ट्र पोलिस दलाचे संपूर्ण जगात नाव आहे. यामागे आम्हा कोणा राजकारण्यांचे नव्हे तर पोलिसांचेच कर्तृत्व आहे. महाराष्ट्र पोलिस दलाला उज्वल परंपरा आहे. विरोधी पक्षनेते देवेंद्र फडणवीस महाराष्ट्रावर एवढा राग का काढत आहेत, हेच समजत नाही असेही देशमुख म्हणाले.परंतु त्यांचे आरोप हे संपूर्ण महाराष्ट्राची बदनामी करणारे आहेत, असा दावाही गृहमंत्री देशमुख यांनी केला आहे. महाराष्ट्र पोलिस दलाला उज्वल परंपरा आहे म्हणून सामान्य माणसाचा कायदा आणि सुव्यवस्थेवर विश्वास टिकून आहे. क्षुद्र राजकारणासाठी आपण या पद्धतीचे आरोप करून सामान्य जनतेचा विश्वास डळमळीत करू नका असे आवाहनही देशमुख यांनी केले.
‘जनतेची दिशाभूल करण्याचा प्रयत्न’
केंद्र सरकारने केलेली अन्यायकारक इंधनदरवाढ, त्यामुळे वाढलेली महागाई, अन्वय नाईक आत्महत्या प्रकरण, फडणवीस सरकारच्या काळातला महाऑनलाईन घोटाळा, मराठा आरक्षण प्रकरणातील केंद्र सरकारची संदिग्ध भूमिका, प्रभू श्रीरामाच्या नावाने सुरू असलेली लूट, अशा मुद्द्यांना बगल देऊन जनतेची दिशाभूल करण्याचा भाजपचा प्रयत्न असून त्यासाठीच विधानसभेत विरोधी पक्षनेते देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांच्याकडून सचिन वाझेंचा मुद्दा उपस्थित करून गोंधळ घातला जात आहे, असा आरोप काँग्रेसचे प्रदेशाध्यक्ष नाना पटोले यांनी मंगळवारी केला. मनसुख हिरन प्रकरणात जे दोषी असतील त्यांची चौकशी करून त्यांना शिक्षा करण्यात सरकार मागेपुढे पाहणार नाही, असेही पटोले म्हणाले.
