यावेळी त्यांनी मुंबईच्या मालाड परिसरातील क्रीडा संकुलाला टिपू सुलतानाचे नाव देण्यावरुन निर्माण झालेल्या वादासंदर्भातही भाष्य केले. हिंदूंवर अत्याचार केले तो टिपू सुलतान तो आमचा देश गौरव होऊ शकत नाही. त्यामुळे महापालिका मैदानाला त्यांच नाव देऊ शकत नाही, असे फडणवीस यांनी म्हटले.
