पुणे: महाराष्ट्र नवनिर्माण सेनेच्या पदाधिकाऱ्यांच्या भेटीगाठी घेण्याच्या उद्देशाने मंगळवारी रात्री पुण्यात दाखल झालेल्या राज ठाकरे यांनी बाजीराव रोडवरील अक्षरधारा बुक गॅलरीला भेट दिली होती. यावेळी राज ठाकरे (Raj Thackeray) हे त्यांचा सतत पाठलाग करणाऱ्या प्रसारमाध्यमांवर चांगलेच संतापले होते. प्रसारमाध्यम प्रतिनिधींना पाहून त्यांनी ‘काही जगू द्याल की नाही?’ असं म्हणत त्यांना कॅमेरे बंद करायला लावले होते. त्यानंतर राज ठाकरे यांनी अक्षरधारा बुक गॅलरीत निवांतपणे बसून पुस्तकं चाळली. याठिकाणहून निघताना राज ठाकरे यांनी थोडीथोडकी नव्हे तर तब्बल ५० हजार रुपयांची पुस्तकं विकत घेतल्याची माहिती समोर आली आहे. यामध्ये गोविंद सखाराम देसाई लिखित मराठी रियासतचे आठ खंड, मृत्युंजयची नवीन आवृत्ती या पुस्तकांचा समावेश आहे. रात्री आठ वाजण्याच्या सुमारास राज ठाकरे अक्षरधारा बुक गॅलरीत दाखल झाले होते. त्यानंतर राज ठाकरे यांनी तब्बल दीड तास पुस्तकांच्या सानिध्यात घालवला. त्यांनी निवांत बसून अनेक पुस्तके चाळली. विविध प्रकारच्या पुस्तकांच्या दालनांची त्यांनी पाहणी केली. ऐतिहासिक, सामाजिक, आत्मचरित्र, चरित्र या प्रकारातील साहित्य त्यांनी आपल्या बुक शेल्फसाठी निवडले. दुकानातून निघेपर्यंत राज ठाकरे यांनी तब्बल २०० पुस्तकं खरेदी केली होती.

राज ठाकरे यांनी वा. सी. बेंद्रे यांच्या रियासतचे सर्व खंड; तसेच मृत्यूंजय, छावा, युगंधर या पुस्तकांच्या डिलक्स आवृत्ती आणि विविध प्रकारची सुमारे ५० हजार रुपये किमतीची पुस्तके खरेदी केली. शिवशाहीर बाबासाहेब पुरंदरे यांच्या राजा शिवछत्रपती या चरित्रग्रंथात प्रसिद्ध चित्रकार दीनानाथ दलाल यांनी रेखाटलेल्या चित्रांचा संग्रह महाराज या नावाने प्रकाशित करण्यात आला आहे. यातील मूळ चित्रे बाबासाहेबांनी माझ्याकडे सुपूर्द केल्याचे सांगून राज ठाकरे यांनी या पुस्तकाची माहिती घेतली. बुक गॅलरीसंदर्भात सूचना करून त्यांनी वाचकांशी संवाद साधला. कुसुमाग्रज वाचक कट्ट्याचे उद्घाटन राज ठाकरे यांच्या हस्ते झाले होते. त्यानंतर त्यांची ही चौथी भेट होती. मराठी साहित्याला कसा प्रतिसाद मिळतो, असे त्यांनी आवर्जून विचारल्याचे गॅलरीचे संचालक रमेश राठिवडेकर यांनी ‘मटा’ला सांगितले.
