बीड: निसर्गावर माणसाकडून होत असलेल्या अतिक्रमणाचे फटके गेल्या काही वर्षात प्रकर्षाने बसू लागले आहेत. प्रदूषणाने श्वास कोंडतोय, पावसाच्या पाण्याचं नियोजन नसल्याने पूर ऐन शहरात घुसतोय. जंगल, प्राण्यांचे अधिवास यांच्या रेषा ओलांडून मानवी वस्ती वाढतेय. भरवस्तीत बिबट्या, गवा, हत्ती प्राणी आल्याने धास्ती वाढतेय. हे सगळं काय आहे? पर्यावरणाला धक्का दिल्यावर हेच तर होणार, अशी प्रतिक्रिया अनेकदा निसर्गप्रेमींकडून ऐकायला मिळते.

दुसरीकडे झाडांची कत्तल, वृक्षतोड, रस्तेबांधणीत येणाऱ्या झाडांवर पडणार कोयते यामुळे हिरवाई नष्ट होत चालली आहे. वृक्षारोपण मोहीम तर अनेकदा फोटोसाठीच सुरू आहे की काय या शंकेलाही खतपाणी मिळतंय.

एकूण सृष्टीचा पर्यावरण तोल ढासळण्यासाठी अनेक कारणं आहेत. अशा वातावरणात महाराष्ट्रातील बीडमधील अख्खी देवराई जेव्हा जळून खाक होते तेव्हा वनविभागाच्या यंत्रणेला झळ लागते आणि त्यातून वनविभागाचे अधिकारी आणि कर्मचारी चार महिन्यात काळाठिक्कर डोंगर पुन्हा हिरवागार करतात. या घटनेनंतर मात्र निसर्गसंवर्धनाच्या गोठलेल्या फांदीला आशेची पालवी फुटली आहे.

महाराष्ट्रातील बीडमधील देवराईची दोन रूपं पाहिली की पर्यावरणाविषयीची जाणीव अजून रूजलेली आहे यावर विश्वास बसतो. बीडमधील देवराईवर उन्हाळ्यात वणवा पेटला. या वणव्यात देवराईतील एकही झाड वाचलं नाही. सगळ्या झाडांना झळ लागली होती. आग लागल्याचं कळताच पर्यावरणप्रेमी, वृ्क्षप्रेमींनी धाव घेतली, वनविभागानेही रक्ताचं पाणी करून आग आटोक्यात आणली. पण व्हायचं तेच झालं. वणवा शमला खरा पण सारा डोंगर काळवंडून गेला. मोठ्या कष्टाने ही देवराई फुलली होती. लोक उत्स्फूर्तपणे डोंगरावरच्या झाडांना पाणी घालायचे. सकाळी फिरायला जाणारे लोक पाण्याची बाटली या झाडांसाठी सोबत न्यायच. वनविभाग होताच पण बीडकरांनीही या माळावरची देवराई फुलवण्यात हातभार लावला होता. मात्र गेल्या उन्हाळ्यात ही देवराई करपली.

आता पुढे काय… सगळा डोंगर पुन्हा हिरवागार व्हावा असं प्रत्येक बीडवासियांना वाटत होतं. पण शून्यातून सुरूवात करायची होती. पावसाळा तोंडावर होताच, झळ लागलेली ती झाडं जगवायची हे आव्हान होतं. अशावेळीच वनविभागाचे अधिकारी आणि कर्मचारी तिथे होते. बीडकरांची आस्था बघून त्यांनी लवकरच हा डोंगर फुलवण्याचा शब्द दिला. शासकीय अधिकारी फक्त बोलतात, कागदं रंगवतात असं म्हटलं जातं कारण लोकांच्या गाठीला असे अनुभव येत असतात. पण याच समजाला फाटा देत बीड जिल्ह्यातील वनविभाग अधिकारी आणि कर्मचाऱ्यांनी रात्रीचा दिवस करून देवराईचा डोंगर असा काही फुलवला की चार महिन्यांपूर्वी देवराई वणव्याच्या कवेत होती हे पटणारही नाही.

अरविंद जगताप यांनी वनअधिकाऱ्यांचं कौतुक करताना केलेल्या पोस्टमध्ये असं म्हटलं आहे की, ‘ऊन्हाळ्यात बीडच्या देवराईत आग लागली आणि खूप झाडांना झळ पोहोचली. तेव्हा वन विभागाच्या कर्मचारी आणि अधिकारी लोकांनी आम्ही एकूण एक झाड जगवून दाखवू असं सांगितलं होतं. त्यांनी शब्द खरा केला. डोंगर हिरवागार झालाय. बीडमध्ये ऊन्हाळ्यात डोंगरावर झाडं जगवणं, त्यांना पाणी देणं खुप अवघड काम आहे. ही मंडळी मन लाऊन काम करतात. कधी देवराईत गेलात तर त्यांचं कौतुक करायला विसरू नका.’
आम्ही एकेक झाड वाचवून दाखवू हा शब्द वनविभागाच्या अधिकाऱ्यांनी, कर्मचाऱ्यांनी खरा करून दाखवला. डोंगर चढून झळ बसलेल्या झाडांना पाणी देणं, त्यांची वाढ व्हावी यासाठी खत देणं, छाटणी करणं हे सोपं नव्हतं पण त्यांनी करून दाखवलं. आज बीड मध्ये येणारा निसर्गप्रेमीच नव्हे तर प्रत्येकजण झाडांच्या या रक्षणकर्त्या वनकर्मचाऱ्यांवर कौतुकाचा फुलोरा फुलवत आहेत. वृक्षप्रेमी अरविंद जगतात यांनी या वनाधिकाऱ्यांची पाठ थोपटवणारी पोस्ट सोशल मीडियावर शेअर केली आहे.
